Cruelty Free VS Vegan Beauty Products

Posted by on

'Cruelty free' and 'vegan' are not terms that are interchangable. They have different meanings when it comes to describing beauty products and cosmetics. However, 10+ Free Life products are both Cruelty Free and Vegan. Let us explain further...

Cruelty free describes a product that is not tested on animals at any point in their creation process. The FDA does not provide guidelines to determine if a product is cruelty free. So, companies turn to other sources for guidance. One of the larger sources is "Leaping Bunny". 10+ Free Life products are "Leaping Bunny Certified". We took this extra step to prove to you that we are dedicated to being a cruelty free company!

Vegan describes a product that does not include any animal ingredients. Examples of animal derived ingredients that are commonly used in beauty products are honey, beeswax, lanolin (wool grease), squalene (shark liver oil), carmine (crushed-up beetles), gelatin (cow or pig bones, tendons or ligaments), allantoin (cow urine), ambergris (whale vomit) and placenta (sheep organs).

You can shop the 10+ Free Life site with confidence knowing that all our products are both Cruelty Free and Vegan!
